Oculus Rift as many may know is a Virtual Reality headset which many had high hopes for since back into 2012 when it made a prototype VR headset which revived the VR market & over the years has improved it's VR headset to a stage which many believe to be the best VR Headset as of now & with it being bought by Facebook for $400 million in cash, $1.6 billion in Facebook stock, and an additional $300 million subject to Oculus VR meeting certain financial targets set it's bar even higher.
Recent developments over the pass few weeks has left people wondering will VR fail again but this time it's because of Spectations & Price.
Oculus Rift Specs:
GPU-NVIDIA GTX 970
CPU- Intel i5-4590 chip
The Oculus Rift Specs for those of you that don't know much about PC's this means that only very High End PC's can use Oculus Rift not much High End Gaming Laptops can do those Specs & even if they did they still can't use Oculus Rift because you need your HDMI port hooked directly up to the GPU & laptops don't work like that & a High End PC with these Specs would cost you a lot:
Of course, you need more than that to build a functional computer. Here’s everything else you’d have to buy, with a reasonable, price:
Motherboard - $100/£65
Case - $60/£40
Storage - $100/£65
Monitor - $150/£100
Keyboard and mouse - $50/£30
550 watt power supply - $50/£30
This comes to around $1,200/£800 & this is basic components this doesn't include Oculus Rift which will cost you around $400/£250 so to play Oculus Rift you only have to pay the very reasonable price of around $1500/£1000+
Oculus Rift Specs are not good news for VR Headsets there are other VR Headsets still to release Specs like the Value Headset but the headset most people are looking to now is Sony's Morpheus the PS4 VR Headset & what it can do for the average customers Oculus specs blow the PS4 so far out you got to wonder what it can do.
What do you guys think will VR Fail or can Sony & other VR headsets save it?

YEP! Not to boast or anything, but i'm an inventor; at least i consider myself one.
I've been developing/Thinking of a way to use Oculus Rift, or the Samsung Gear VR, to develop a VR yugioh game. unfortunately all i have done is the planning, and from what i have, It's possible. I'll be starting a Kick Starter Page later on once i have more motivation.

I'm guessing your VR game if maded will be free since konami will be more likely to stop you if you maded money from it will be interesting to see if Samsung or any of the other VR headsets will work with the consoles will be easier to get games on it if they did & if one did that maybe best to put the yugioh game you talked about on will be easier to get support for the kickstarter if more people can play the game anyway good luck & post the kickstarter page link here when/if you do the kickstarter.

I'm hoping to get the OR headset myself, but I don't plan to use it for PC gaming. I want to use it for console. Is it compatible with my tv, is the question I'd need answered before I do the payment lol

Not atm because the consoles don't have the specs to run the OR Headset & TV r consoles don't have HDMI ports which can be hook directly to the GPU only headsets i see maybe doing something with tv are the mobile companies like samsung for consoles you would have to get the sony ps4 headset r the Microsoft headset HoloLens which is the worst headset of them all looks set to be another kinect it's not a VR headset it just lets you see holograms though it so a augmented reality headset only good thing about it is that it's wireless & knowing microsoft it will probably end up doing something with TV entertainment & all lol

this is interesting for $1200+ theres nothing impossible, its just we dont know yet how it works, and i really hope theres a yugioh game like ygopro (not like konami ones that must unlock the cards to use it) in VR. if this works i will buy a pair set of this and put it in my store.

hmm interesting i don't know what yugioh game would work best on a VR headset i like the YGO Online way of unlocking/trade/buy cards but i can also see how a ygopro type game would work nicely as well with multiplayer with the way konami is at the moment i think a ygopro type game on VR has more chance of getting maded than a konami yugioh game.

just an update Microsoft announced a Partnership with Oculus Rift the Partnership means all Oculus Rifts will be packaged with an Xbox One controller. Oculus Rift will be able to stream Microsoft games alongside its own VR games this means you can use the new window 10 feature of streaming your Xbox games to your PC to play but it's not what people are thinking the Xbox/Microsoft games will not be VR it will basely be that you will see a virtual theatre like a cinema screen which you will then play your streamed Xbox games on.
It’ll work like this:
Windows 10 features built-in Xbox functionality.
You can use that to stream the games from your Xbox One to your PC.
The Rift can take that game and then put it into a virtual game room
Window 10 will be released July 29 for those that don't know Windows 10 will be free for existing Windows 7 and 8.1 users so be sure to sign up for the update there should be a window logo on your computer telling you about it.
Oculus have also announced their own controller sort of thing called Oculus Touch which is their way to fix one of VR’s Biggest Problems & that's when you reach out to touch something nothing happens Oculus Touch is meant to give people something to grab when they reach out & to keep the feeling that your in virtual reality & not break the experience when you reach out.
If you want to see want Oculus can do head over to KSic Games channel to see some fun VR games https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcchCiZtokVd7Izgv4XTXU_sqACI1E04h
